The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI), the National Council of Dalit Christians (NCDC), National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) along with the Church of North India (CNI) jointly organized a dharna and rally at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on December 11, 2013, demanding equal treatment by the Indian Government and justice to Dalit Christians by way of according Scheduled Caste status to them.  ........more

WCRC Consultation on Mission in the Frontline

The World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) organized a consultation on “Mission in the Frontline” to deliberate on the issue of inter-religious violence and peace at Christian Jensen Kolleg, Breklum (Germany) from 25th to 30th November 2013. Participants were drawn from various countries across the world including Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Lebanon, Malawi, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan and Syria. I am thankful to Mr. Alwan Masih, General Secretary, CNI Synod for giving me the honor to represent India, in this consultation, as a delegate from the Church of North India. ........more

Synod Programme on Mission Evangelism for Presbyters

The Great Commission of our Lord sets the agenda for the ministry of the Church in this world (Matthew 28:19-20). Therefore, the Church's adherence to the divine mission is primarily signified by her evangelistic engagement to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of North India upholds commitment to evangelism in its Mission Statement and in its Mission Priorities for the decade (2011-2020). DIOCESAN YOUTH CONFERENCE

While the world was preparing to celebrate the festival of light Diwali, the youth of the Diocese of Barrackpore organized a youth camp from October 25-27, 2013, at Habra St. Stephen's School campus.
The programme was organized under the dynamic leadership of the youth secretary Mr. Avijit Mondal and Mr. Sourabh Malakar, Youth Co-coordinator, under the guidance of Bishop Brojen Malakar and Revd. ARUNIMA HOSPICE REACHING OUT
Eye camp for the commercial sex workers at Kalighat

Recently Arunima Hospice organized an eye check-up camp for the commercial sex workers at Kalighat in collaboration with Durbar Mahila Samanyaya Samity. The camp was conducted by Dr. Tamonash Karmakar and attended by 40 commercial sex workers.
On the same day Arunima Hospice organized a health camp and a children's leadership camp at Munshigunge (Khidderpore) once again in collaboration with Durbar Mahila Samanyaya Samity. The health camp was conducted by Dr. Sima Sarkar. Free medicines were distributed to the patients.....
